Here are some frequently asked questions:
What is the reduced file?
Also known as reduced data sheet, customized data sheet, particularized data sheet, data sheet, certificate of characteristics, CoC, Certificate of Conformity.
It is a document that includes the main characteristics of the vehicle according to its homologation. These characteristics are, for example: manufacturer, masses and dimensions, engine unit, transmission, emissions level, tire measurements, towing hitch, among others.
It also includes extra options that the vehicle may incorporate and that have been previously approved by the manufacturer. Some examples are: sunroof, tow hook, fenders, spoilers, among others.
When is a reduced tab required?
The reduced registration form is required according to the Royal Decree 750/2010 for the inspection of imported vehicles in ITV and the issuance of its Spanish technical data sheet for subsequent registration. It is also necessary to obtain a duplicate of the technical card of a vehicle or trailer that has lost its documentation.
What is the difference between the Reduced Card and the CoC (Certificate of Conformity)?
They are the same. The only difference is that the Certificate of Conformity is issued by the manufacturer and the Reduced Data Sheet is issued by a competent engineer. However, the main advantages of the reduced certificate are: price and speed. A CoC usually costs around 200€ and takes a couple of days, while the reduced fiche can cost a quarter of that and is delivered the same day. In Car Technical Data Sheet the price is 49,90€ and we deliver it in 3 hours!.
Is the Ficha Reducida valid nationwide?
Yes, the reduced form, with digital signature and CVE (Electronic Verification Code), is valid throughout the national territory.

Enrollment by Certificate of Approval Correspondence - Is there a deadline?
Yes, according to ANNEX XIX of RD/2007/46/CE, the deadline for approving vehicles by Certificate of Correspondence according to their category is as follows:
- M1: no date limit.
- N1: 29/10/2011.
- N2,N3,O2,O4: 29/10/2012.
If the date of first registration of your vehicle is after these dates, it will not be possible to register it for national homologation equivalence.
My vehicle does not have a European password: Change of Residence, Certificate of Correspondence, Individual Homologation, Historic Vehicle? Which is the best option?
In the event that the vehicle does not have a European password, it may also be possible to register it by means of: Proof of Change of Residence, Certificate of National Correspondence, Individual Homologation or as Historic if its first registration is more than 30 years old.
When registering by Change of Residence, the vehicle is exempt from homologation and would not pay registration tax. For this it is necessary to be able to justify this change of residence. The requirements are: first, to reside at least one year in the country of origin. Second, use and register in the country of origin for at least six months before coming to Spain. Finally, to be registered in Spain.
The Certificate of Correspondence, or also called national equivalence, certifies that all the characteristics of the vehicle to be registered are equal to those of a national or equivalent password. This certificate must be accompanied by a reduced technical data sheet. It does not require physical inspection of the vehicle.
The Individual Homologation would be considered as the last option due to its higher price and processing time. For this procedure it is necessary the physical inspection of the vehicle by the laboratory to verify that it complies with the regulatory acts required for circulation in national territory. This homologation must be accompanied by a reduced form. The processing time for this procedure is two to three weeks.
To be catalogued as historic, the vehicle must be more than 30 years old since its first registration. In addition to this, it must be totally original, with no alterations or changes.
In ALL cases, a reduced data sheet is required.
What is the European Homologation Password?
The European password is a code of letters, numbers and symbols that identify the model of the vehicle marketed in the EU.
This password can be found on the manufacturer's plate or sticker, or in the vehicle's documentation.
Here is an example of a manufacturer's plate showing the European password:
Duplicate of the Ficha Técnica or Tarjeta ITV, How and where to request it?
It is possible to request a duplicate of the Technical Data Sheet in case of damage, theft or loss.
The procedure is carried out at the ITV station. The application for the new electronic ITV cards is made at the Traffic Department.
The ITV station will consult the Industry Service for all the necessary data to issue the duplicate of the technical data sheet of our vehicle. This process may take several days to obtain a response from Industry. At that time, the ITV station will contact you to take your vehicle to the station and, after performing a technical inspection of the vehicle, give you the new technical data sheet.
What do I need to provide in order to obtain a duplicate of the technical card?
- Photo of the vehicle owner's ID card
- Photo of the vehicle's registration certificate, if available.
- Vehicle registration number
